DANIEL

LOVI

Documentary photographer

Audiovisual storyteller, member of the Vórtice Agency, director of the creative audiovisual production company El Holandés Aberrante and member of the Association of Professional Photojournalists of Asturias (APFA). Lovi has worked on projects about the future and resilience in Fukushima, social leaders in Colombia, about suicide in Asturias (project with open chapters in other territories) as well as directed the medium-length documentary “Engarradiella” about the punk scene and the problems suffered by the LGTBIQ+ community within it and the long documentary “Socialicide” about suicide in the Asturian mining basins.

In his projects Lovi seeks a deeper understanding of the themes he chooses, closely linked to Human Rights: identity, territory, mental health and environment. He is an advocate of long-term projects, which he considers key to understand the previous context as a fundamental pillar from which to structure the narrative, to be able to capture what happens beyond the current media.

He has published in national and international media such as El Salto, La Nueva España, elDiario.es, Red Pepper Magazine, Het Parool or 5W Magazine, and has exhibited his audiovisual works in places such as the Social Cinema and Human Rights Exhibition of Asturias (MUSOC) or the Festival Interceltique de Lorient.
